Customer Owned Banking Association represents Australian customer owned banking providers. COBA is an advocate for competitive banking options, focused on quality customer service, commitment to local communities, lower fairer fees and competitive mortgage rates.
I met COBA when they were Abacus and had the fabulous opportunity to be part of their rebrand. As part of the rebrand process market research was undertaken and then the new logo concepts were put to a focus group for feedback purposes.
As well as the logo rebrand I worked on other launch materials, such as stationery, roll up banners, launch video assets, website refresh, style guide other brand collateral.
It is always an enjoyable opportunity for me to work on a long form print job, which is why I love doing COBA’s annual reports.
Based on the report content provided, I would pitch three themes and design concepts for that year’s report. Once the client was happy with the direction, I would see the report through to final printed and digital versions.
COBA had been pushing hard in 2016 – 2017 for a Royal Commission into the banking sector. Advocacy was the theme I pitched to COBA for that year’s annual report and they went with it.
Part of the brief for this year’s annual report was to create a short form report based on the full annual report. The COBA Year in Review features the Chair and CEO reports and achievement highlights.
