Richmond Fellowship Tasmania (RFT) and Richmond Futures are locally operated, Tasmanian not for profit organisations which have been supporting people facing mental health challenges and psychosocial disability, for over 35 years.

Every week I source, write, edit and schedule content for RFT and Richmond Futures social media channels. Part of this role involves design for templates for recruitment and internal and external newsletters. My design approach is to provide strong branding for each channel and when necessary, to bring together the two brands equally, for Richmond Group content.

Richmond Futures’ Independent Living Program was having difficulty attracting appropriate participants to fill vacancies. I recommended having property walk through videos available to view on the website. This would show the properties and the areas they are situated in, much better. This would provide video content for social media channels that can be used over time, bring more traffic to the website and importantly, provide better decision making opportunities for NDIS participants looking for their home in the community.

I worked with Oi Studios for the videography, briefing Oi and coordinating the state-wide shoot, providing feedback and direction on the rushes ready for final approval for the Operations Manager and the CEO.

My design approach was to use the strong colour palette that both RFT and Richmond Futures have, focussing on the participants who benefit from the services they provide and the people that enable the services to happen, the employees. Strategic Plans can contain a lot of corporate jargon and reporting so I wanted to create a connection for the reader of this Strategic Plan with all the people involved at Richmond Group.

New photography was required for this project. I worked closely with the house coordinators in the south of the state, participants and the photographer to schedule and direct the day long shoot.

Every year RFT and Richmond Futures share some of the artwork created by participants who attend their TasRec Program. The TasRec Program provides access to fitness classes, art and craft classes, walking groups and day trips, cooking classes and social groups.

It is always a joy to see what participants have created over the year and to celebrate their work through these cards.

This year’s annual report follows on from the strategic plan design, with the use of bold colour and the focus being on the participants. I approached the design of this report as an opportunity for readers of it to connect with the people Richmond Group support, to generate greater brand awareness and increase donations.

Richmond Connections is a quarterly newsletter that is sent out via email to employees and subscribers, and is available to read via the websites. The newsletter provides an update on what RFT and Richmond Futures have been doing, what services they provide, how they receive participant and carers, family and friends feedback. The newsletter also features the properties and any vacancies available with Richmond Futures.


My design approach with this newsletter was to use the strong brand colour palettes to create an inspiring and fun form of communication to help increase brand awareness, subscribers and traffic to the websites.

The original brochure required content updates as well as having a name change. This was an opportunity to update the brochure design and use more positive, caring imagery and a warmer colour scheme.
