This is my new baby, Mesmer Perfume. And my other passion, niche natural perfumery. I am currently studying with perfumer Marina Barcenilla of MB Parfums. The fragrance industry is a very secretive one so I leapt at the chance to complete a Diploma of Advanced Natural Perfumery and to receive mentorship from Marina over the course of this year.

As a graphic designer, I find the hardest thing to do is to create an identity for my own business. It took me a couple of years to finally figure out what I was going to call my new enterprise but once I found it, the identity came together very quickly.

I’ve based the symbol of the logo on the letter M with an emphasis on the abstract, an impression of the letter M. A fragrance can be an abstract impression made of many elements. I also wanted to represent the basic structure of a perfume. Three aspects, three triangles. The top notes, mid or heart notes and the base notes.

This digital campaign was the focus of my RMIT Digital Marketing Strategy and Implementing Digital Marketing Campaigns courses. I used my own business idea to help both my learning process and to move forward with my other passion, perfumery.

The campaign’s focus was threefold with the first being brand reach, as this is a new brand. Secondly, generate sample sales by providing educational information about natural fragance materials vs synthetics. Thirdly, to build a customer base through email sign ups.
